Community Emergency Hub

CYCLONE VAIANU

In the event of severe emergency in the Buckland Area and providing it is safe to do so Buckland Hall will be stood up with access to support, information, refreshments etc. If and when stood up we will put a notice on this page and also on our Facebook Page.

Buckland Hall

In the event of an emergency, Buckland Hall will be stood up as your local Community Emergency Hub. These hubs are being set up across the region following Cyclone Gabrielle and with the support of funding from The Cyclone Gabrielle Trust and Auckland Council.

During an emergency event, providing internet and power are possible, our main vehicle of communication will be via the Buckland Community Emergency Hub Facebook page, emails from our database and also via the LCD screen mounted on the front of Buckland Hall.

If you live within the Buckland Community, please make sure that:

  1. If you use Facebook, you have Liked/Followed the Buckland Community Emergency Hub Facebook page
  2. You have signed up for our monthly newsletters
  3. You check the Buckland Hall LCD screen (which also has details of all our upcoming classes and events!)

Please note – Buckland Hall is currently designated an Earthquake Prone Building and will not be able to operate as a Community Emergency Hub in the event of an earthquake. However, much of the equipment being established will be mobile for use at other locations.
